Casino del Mar Unveils USD 9.7m Modernisation Project
The multi-million-dollar investment is being deployed across several priority areas. The single largest portion ( USD 3.5 million ) has been allocated to a full revamp of the casino’s sports betting division, which will feature upgraded systems, improved layouts and a more modern environment designed to appeal to both local and visiting bettors.
An additional USD 1.5 million has been directed toward redesigning the high-limit room, giving premium players a refreshed, upscale experience. The casino’s main entrance has also undergone a USD 250,000 upgrade to create a more contemporary and visually appealing arrival point.
Other improvements include USD 200,000 in restroom renovations, new screens and televisions across the property and additional infrastructure enhancements to improve safety, comfort and operational reliability.
Expanded Entertainment & New Gaming Experiences
Alongside facility upgrades, Casino del Mar is broadening its entertainment offerings. A new entertainment venue featuring a dedicated performance stage has been constructed, allowing the property to host live shows, themed events and expanded nightlife programming.
Competitive tournament machines have also been added to diversify the gaming mix and appeal to players looking for skill-based and interactive slot experiences. Another USD 3.3 million was used to finalize modernization works property-wide, ensuring consistency in design and technology across all key areas.
To strengthen the gaming floor, the casino invested USD 1 million in state-of-the-art slot machines, offering updated features, enhanced visuals and new themes to attract a broader audience.
Reaffirming a Long-Term Vision for Puerto Rico
Rolando Paulson emphasized that the renovation reflects a clear commitment to the island’s long-term economic and tourism potential. The project is part of a wider investment cycle under The Condado Collection, which has committed or already deployed USD 102 million into Puerto Rico’s tourism and hospitality development for the coming years.
