ReferOn Introduces Personal Access Tokens for Faster APIs

ReferOn has rolled out Personal Access Tokens (PATs), a new authentication method designed to dramatically simplify and secure API access for operators, affiliates and technical teams working with the platform.

The introduction of PATs removes the need for legacy authentication endpoints and complex, multi-step token exchanges that previously slowed down integrations. Instead, users can now create a unique access token directly from their ReferOn account and connect to the API instantly, cutting setup time to minutes rather than hours.

Streamlined API Authentication

Personal Access Tokens are automatically generated credentials that grant direct access to ReferOn’s API without relying on traditional login-based authentication flows. By replacing outdated processes, PATs offer a cleaner and more predictable way to manage system access.

The new tokens deliver three key advantages:

  • Speed: Tokens are created instantly, allowing immediate API connectivity

  • Simplicity: A single token replaces multi-stage authentication sequences

  • Security: Tokens can be scoped, time-limited and revoked at any moment

All ReferOn API services are now consolidated under one endpoint, creating a more stable environment for automation and large-scale integrations.

Built for Modern Affiliate Operations

As affiliate ecosystems expand, platforms are processing increasing volumes of data across reporting, tracking and payments. In this environment, slow or overly complex integrations quickly become operational roadblocks.

By removing friction at the authentication layer, PATs enable teams to deploy automations faster, synchronize data across internal systems and reduce reliance on manual technical work. This approach supports scalability while keeping security firmly in place.

Product Vision

Vlad Bondarenko, Head of Product at ReferOn, said the update reflects the company’s broader philosophy of reducing complexity for users. He noted that PATs replace fragile legacy workflows with a single, controlled access point, helping affiliate programs scale efficiently without adding technical overhead.

The launch of Personal Access Tokens marks another step in ReferOn’s wider strategy to provide high-performance infrastructure that supports growth, automation and operational clarity across affiliate networks.
