Betsson Becomes Title Sponsor of Peru’s Volleyball League
Swedish gaming giant Betsson Group has expanded its presence in South American sports through a landmark deal with the Peruvian Volleyball Federation (FPV), taking over title sponsorship of the 2025/2026 Women’s Volleyball League.
Under the agreement, the championship will be renamed Liga Peruana de Vóley Betsson, running from October 25, 2025, to May 3, 2026 and featuring Peru’s twelve leading teams in what officials call a “transformative new era” for the sport.
A Turning Point for Peruvian Volleyball
FPV president Gino Vegas said the partnership marks a critical step toward strengthening the professional framework of the league and raising its global visibility.
“This collaboration gives us the foundation to build a stronger, more competitive league,” he said during the launch in Lima. “Betsson’s involvement helps us focus on athletes, clubs and fans the true pillars of the game.”
Sponsorship funds will go toward infrastructure upgrades, training development and marketing initiatives to increase engagement among new audiences, especially younger players.
Betsson’s Broader Push for Equality in Sports
Robin Olenius, Betsson Group’s Director of Public Relations, said the company views sports as a bridge for opportunity and inclusion.
“For Betsson, sport is more than competition it’s a social connector,” Olenius noted. “By supporting women’s volleyball in Peru, we’re helping spotlight female athletes and empower communities through shared passion.”
The company’s approach aligns with its global strategy of supporting grassroots and gender balanced initiatives, promoting inclusion while contributing to local sporting ecosystems.
Competition Format and Fan Integration
The Liga Peruana de Vóley Betsson 2025/2026 will feature a redesigned competition model:
All 12 teams will face each other once in the opening round.
The top ten will advance to a second stage, again using a round-robin format.
The top eight teams will enter the playoffs, consisting of best-of-three quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals to determine the national champion.
Alongside financial sponsorship, Betsson will enhance fan engagement by providing exclusive digital content, match-day promotions and betting markets for the competition.
A Strategic Alliance for Growth
The FPV-Betsson partnership is positioned as more than a commercial agreement. It represents a joint investment in the professional future of women’s sports in Peru.
By blending Betsson’s global marketing reach with FPV’s local expertise, both organizations aim to elevate volleyball’s profile across Latin America. Analysts believe the model could serve as a blueprint for sustainable sports sponsorships in emerging markets.
If successful, the Liga Peruana de Vóley Betsson may become one of the most commercially dynamic and widely followed women’s volleyball leagues in South America reshaping how the sport is funded, promoted, and experienced by fans nationwide.
