Buenas PH Urges Influencers to Fight Gambling Scams
PAGCOR-licensed e-casino Buenas PH, operated by HHR Philippines Inc. (HHRPI), is calling on celebrities and influencers to take a more active role in combating illegal gambling and addiction. Rather than limiting involvement to paid promotions, the operator is urging public figures to call out scam platforms, restore confidence in regulated gaming and promote player protection measures.
Rising Scam Cases Drive Action
The appeal was highlighted during a press conference for the inaugural Battle of Streamers event, organised by YGS Live with Buenas PH as lead partner. The move follows a reported 76% increase in online gambling scams over the past year, largely linked to unregulated activity across social media channels. Research from The Fourth Wall points to aggressive advertising and questionable affiliate practices by unlicensed platforms as major contributors to fraud and financial losses.
Jev Mark Macam, president of 888 Luxury Legacy Corporation, stated that restoring order requires transparency, clear regulation and visible consumer safeguards. Buenas PH believes influencers can play a crucial role in raising awareness and guiding audiences toward legitimate platforms instead of high-risk, unregulated sites.
Promoting Responsible Play Through Streaming
Julius “Banoobs” Mariano, founder of YGS Live, emphasised the importance of steering creators toward licensed operators to distinguish credible gaming from scams. Buenas PH has partnered with well-known personalities including Boss Toyo, ChooxTv, Beatmaster, ForeignGerms, Hypebits and Mark Herras to amplify responsible gaming messages.
The Battle of Streamers event combines entertainment with advocacy, demonstrating how creators can engage audiences while also highlighting potential risks. Buenas PH positions itself as a regulated alternative in contrast to the growing presence of fraudulent platforms.
Focus on Safeguards and Compliance
HHRPI President Atty. Anthony “Tony” Manguiat underscored that influencer involvement should prioritise awareness and safety reminders rather than direct betting promotion. The initiative aims to reduce scam-related harm and mitigate addiction risks by reinforcing the benefits of regulated play.
Backed by PAGCOR licensing, Buenas PH highlights its compliance framework and transparency standards as key differentiators from unlicensed operators. With scam activity rising sharply, particularly across social platforms frequented by younger audiences, the company views influencer engagement as a strategic step toward rebuilding trust in the regulated gaming sector.
