MDS Casinos Enhances Employee Benefits in 2025
In 2025, Marina del Sol (MDS Casinos), a leading casino and hotel operator in Chile, reinforced its commitment to employee welfare by enhancing workplace benefits, with a particular focus on health coverage and professional development. The company emphasized that these initiatives are part of a long-term strategy to improve quality of life, strengthen internal culture and sustain operations amid challenging economic conditions.
In a company statement, MDS Casinos noted that “the end of the year was marked by a new development in the complementary health insurance system, which for the second consecutive year increased coverage without raising costs for employees.”
Expanded Health Insurance Benefits
The upgraded health plan now offers higher reimbursements for medicines, consultations, hospital stays and diagnostic tests, alongside notable improvements in dental care. Importantly, these enhancements have been implemented at no additional cost to staff, reflecting the company’s focus on social responsibility and value creation.
The coverage has also been extended beyond legal dependents. Employees may now include parents and other family members within the insurance plan, ensuring broader protection for the families connected to each organizational unit.
Additionally, MDS announced an upcoming agreement with Isapre Esencial, which will provide favorable access for employees previously unable to join a private health insurance scheme. The agreement will also offer advantageous plans for all staff, with priority access to the Andes Salud network of clinics.
Education and Continuous Learning
MDS Casinos continues to prioritize education and professional development. The company maintains partnerships with Universidad Andrés Bello, Universidad Gabriela Mistral and Ceduc, offering employees and their relatives opportunities to pursue technical, undergraduate and graduate studies under preferential terms.
The company highlighted that its commitment to education is reflected in the career paths of its general managers, all of whom advanced professionally through these development programs.
Strengthening Internal Culture
Throughout 2025, MDS Casinos consolidated its “Somos MDS” initiative, designed to recognize outstanding performance, ensure minimum benefit standards, and reinforce internal culture and belonging. These programs also support community engagement, serving as a foundation for internships and collaborative educational projects with partner institutions.
Bonuses, Collective Agreements, and Labor Stability
MDS Casinos continued to provide competitive remuneration, including Christmas bonuses of up to CLP 650,000, determined according to working schedules and earnings at each site, including Calama, Osorno, Chillán and Talcahuano. These bonuses surpass market averages and serve as tangible recognition of employees’ dedication and contributions.
Manuel Fuica, Operations and People Manager, stated: “As the year concludes, our commitment to employee welfare and development remains steadfast, alongside operational adjustments to ensure continuity of services.” He added, “Every improvement, agreement and benefit stems from a deep conviction: by taking care of our people, we build our organization.”
Union leaders have recognized these efforts. Daniel Soto, president of Union No. 3 at MDS Talcahuano, remarked: “Year-end results demonstrate a genuine effort to enhance working conditions, which is essential.”
In total, MDS Casinos finalized eight collective agreements in 2025, each valid for up to three years as allowed by law. The company concluded the year reaffirming its dedication to employee well-being, professional growth and quality of life, setting the stage for continuous improvement to remain a hallmark of its management in 2026.
