Viva Sorte Bet exits Bahia master sponsorship early
Viva Sorte Bet’s tenure as Esporte Clube Bahia’s master sponsor has come to an earlier-than-planned conclusion, bringing a R$80 million partnership to an end well ahead of its original December 2026 expiry. The early exit represents a notable shift in Bahia’s commercial strategy as the club reshapes its sponsorship landscape for the upcoming season.
Deal Ends Ahead of Schedule
The sponsorship agreement was signed in January 2025, following Bahia’s mutually agreed separation from its previous betting partner, Esportes da Sorte. Under the terms of the new arrangement, Viva Sorte Bet committed to paying R$40 million per year across the 2025 and 2026 seasons, positioning Bahia among the top revenue earners within its ownership structure in terms of master sponsorship value.
Despite the long-term scope initially outlined, Viva Sorte Bet has opted to terminate the agreement prematurely. While the company has not disclosed the reasons behind the decision, it is now confirmed that the betting brand will not occupy the master sponsor position on Bahia’s senior team kits for the 2026 season.
Brand Relationship Continues at a Lower Tier
Although the headline sponsorship has ended, the Viva Sorte group is not fully withdrawing from the club. Viva Sorte Capitalização, another brand within the same corporate group, will remain visible as a secondary sponsor. Its logo will continue to appear on the shoulder area of Bahia’s jerseys.
This ongoing association reflects the message expressed when the partnership was first announced, underscoring that the conclusion of the master sponsorship does not equate to a complete severing of commercial ties between the parties.
Banco BMG Steps Into Prominent Role
With Viva Sorte Bet stepping aside, Banco BMG has assumed a leading sponsorship role for the 2026 campaign. The agreement is structured around financial contributions linked to the opening of new bank accounts through club-led initiatives.
The partnership has already been showcased publicly. Bahia’s under-20 side wore kits featuring Banco BMG branding during a 5–0 win over Inter de Limeira in the 2026 Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior, with the bank’s logo displayed on the upper back of the shirts.
At this stage, however, the club has yet to officially announce a new master sponsor for its main professional squad.
Commercial Reset for the 2026 Season
The early conclusion of a high-value betting sponsorship highlights the increasingly fluid nature of football’s commercial market, particularly for clubs navigating regulatory and strategic changes. Bahia now faces a period of transition as it reassesses how best to monetize its primary shirt sponsorship.
Even so, the continued involvement of Viva Sorte Capitalização and the arrival of Banco BMG indicate that Bahia remains an attractive platform for major brands seeking visibility through association with one of Brazil’s traditional football institutions. How the vacant master sponsorship slot is ultimately filled will be a key factor shaping the club’s commercial outlook for the 2026 season.
