DigiPlus Teams Up with Bayad to Boost OTC Payments
Philippine online gaming company DigiPlus Interactive Corporation has officially sealed an exclusive deal with bill payment operator Bayad to widen its physical payment options for users across its gaming platforms. The initiative aims to simplify over-the-counter (OTC) cash-in processes, catering to customers who prefer traditional payment methods alongside digital solutions.
DigiPlus oversees several major online gaming platforms in the country, including BingoPlus for online bingo, ArenaPlus for sports betting and GameZone for casual and arcade games. Under the agreement signed on Wednesday, DigiPlus becomes Bayad’s exclusive partner for OTC gaming transactions, offering more convenient payment avenues for players nationwide.
Wider Network and Upcoming Features
Bayad, accredited as an electronic money issuer by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, has more than 800 company-owned and partner branches located in malls, grocery stores and convenience shops nationwide. DigiPlus users can now make deposits at these physical locations, expanding financial access to a broader gaming community.
Future developments include adding cash-out services and linking Bayad’s mobile app for faster and more secure fund handling. This integration is designed to give players enhanced control over their transactions.
Strengthening Player Protection
DigiPlus Chairman Eusebio Tanco emphasized that the company prioritizes delivering engaging online entertainment backed by safety and reliability. He described the collaboration with Bayad as a key step in ensuring secure and seamless transactions, reinforcing the company’s commitment to responsible service.
Bayad Chairman Ray Espinosa highlighted how the partnership supports wider access to financial services and offers Filipinos a secure and user-friendly entry point to digital entertainment platforms.
Regulatory and Industry Landscape
DigiPlus is also a founding member of PlaySafe Alliance of the Philippines, an industry coalition promoting responsible gambling and high operational standards. The company’s expansion into alternative payment systems happens amid heightened regulatory discussions in the Philippine Senate regarding tighter controls on online gambling. Authorities have already instructed e-wallet services to end ties with unregulated gambling platforms, signaling growing government scrutiny.
Global Expansion Plans
Beyond its local footprint, DigiPlus is actively pursuing international opportunities. The company has applied for multiple licenses with the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board in South Africa and launched its first global brand, GamePlus, in Brazil in September 2025. It also plans to introduce BingoPlus to the Brazilian market in 2026 as part of its expansion strategy.
Enhancing Player Experience
The Bayad partnership significantly broadens DigiPlus’ payment network, bridging offline and online cash channels. This move not only improves financial accessibility for players but also builds greater confidence through secure and efficient payment options.
As DigiPlus navigates both domestic compliance challenges and global expansion, the company remains committed to responsible gaming and player-focused innovation.
