Medellín Lottery Tops Colombia in 2025 Sales
In 2025, the Medellín Lottery confirmed its status as the leading lottery in Colombia, with sales from its proprietary draws reaching COP 177 billion an increase of COP 2.5 billion compared to 2024. This performance underscores the lottery’s continued relevance in the national gaming sector and its role as a key generator of public resources.
Operated under the Government of Antioquia, the lottery also manages “Apuestas Permanentes” (Chance) throughout the region, recording total sales of COP 596 billion in 2025. These results highlight the institution’s strength in a competitive market and its consistent ability to drive revenue growth.
Revenue Allocated to Social Priorities
A notable share of proceeds from the lottery has been directed to public programs. More than COP 14 billion from the lottery’s draws was transferred to health and educational institutions via the Administrator of Resources of the General Social Security Health System (ADRES). Additionally, over COP 31 billion was channelled to the Antioquia government through the Secretariat of Health and Social Inclusion to support public health initiatives, social programs and community services.

Néstor Fernando Zuluaga Giraldo, general manager of the Medellín Lottery, emphasized the institution’s impact, stating that Antioquia recorded the highest sales of territorial lottery products in Colombia. He highlighted that the lottery continues to be a key contributor to public finances and a vital link between regulated gaming and social investment.
