Risaralda Lottery Posts 20% Sales Growth in 2025
The Risaralda Lottery closed 2025 with standout results, recording a 20% increase in ticket sales and positioning itself as Colombia’s fastest-growing traditional lottery product. The figures were presented to the Lottery’s Board of Directors during its final session of the year, marking a period defined by financial resilience, operational growth and expanding social contributions.
Beyond commercial performance, the lottery reinforced its public role by transferring more than COP 8 billion (around US$2 million) to the regional health system. These transfers once again confirmed the Risaralda Lottery’s importance as a funding mechanism for public welfare, particularly in healthcare financing.
Leadership Highlights a Strong Year
Presenting the annual report, General Manager Bibiana Garcés González described 2025 as a year of consolidation and institutional strength, pointing to improved coordination across departments and sustained backing from public stakeholders.
She noted that the results reflected a collective effort, underpinned by disciplined management and a clear commercial strategy. From a financial standpoint, the Board confirmed that the lottery maintains a solid solvency position, ensuring full compliance with prize payment obligations.
Over the course of the year, total prize payouts exceeded COP 11 billion (approximately US$2.8 million), covering everything from top jackpots to smaller prize tiers.
Sales Expansion Driven by Strategy and Digital Channels
While sales growth was recorded nationwide including strong performances in Valle del Cauca, Cundinamarca and Tolima the Risaralda department itself accounted for roughly one-third of total ticket sales, underscoring the lottery’s deep local roots.
Management attributed the sales uplift to targeted marketing initiatives, the strengthening of the sales network and the continued rollout of the lottery’s proprietary digital sales platform, which allows players to purchase tickets securely online.
Compliance, Social Responsibility and Market Oversight
Alongside financial gains, the lottery advanced several initiatives focused on social responsibility and regulatory control. Support programs for lottery vendors were expanded, while a comprehensive assessment of illegal gambling activity in Risaralda was completed.
That diagnostic study is expected to inform enhanced enforcement and oversight measures in 2026, aimed at protecting both public revenues and legitimate consumers.
Looking Ahead to 2026
During the same Board meeting, approval was granted for the 2026 operating budget, set at approximately COP 56 billion (US$14.5 million), along with the continuation of the current prize structure. According to departmental finance officials, ongoing investments in technology will remain a priority.
Entering 2026, the Risaralda Lottery does so from a position of strength, focused on sustaining growth, expanding digital capabilities and continuing its role as a key contributor to Colombia’s public healthcare funding within a regulated gaming framework.
